Welcome to “Cill Dara le Gaeilge”, a scheme focused on promoting business through the Irish language in Co. Kildare. The objective of the scheme is to provide information and support to businesses that wish to provide services to their customers in the Irish language.
Why County Kildare?
Co. Kildare has been recognised as having the fastest growing Irish-speaking population in the country. It now has eight Irish medium schools. The county also hosts Irish-medium pre-schools, community groups, youth clubs and summer camps. According to the 2011 national census, there are now over 35,000 Co. Kildare residents who speak Irish regularly.
Who are we?
We are a group of volunteers that wholeheartedly believe in the vision that an Irish speaking community in Co. Kildare can receive their education, enjoy a social life and avail of business services in the Irish language. Our objective is to encourage businesses in the county, with support from ourselves, to sell their products and provide their services to this Irish speaking community through the Irish language, to the best of their ability.
Would you like to support us?
We would love to hear from you if you have any time or money to spare, and that you believe in the work that we are undertaking. We are a small team, working with limited resources, and every offer of help is very much appreciated.
